Corporate Communications:
I have been involved in corporate communications for more than 35 years with various companies. I have not kept samples from all those jobs. However, I might have some copies of the publications. My corporate experience includes:
MFA Incorporated – 1990-present

Serve as unofficial editor and proofreader for corporate communications, including proofing Today’s Farmer, MFA member magazine. Have also written and edited training materials for web-based training. This is a secondary job; I am primarily a telecommunications manager.
Management Science America (now Infor Extensity) – 1988-1990
Now based in Alpharetta, GA
Edited slide presentations and other communications as part of my duties.
The Missouri Bar, Jefferson City, MO – 1973-1988
Publications Coordinator: Directed production of print materials from original copy to final printing in-house and commercial print shops. Materials produced included K-12 law-related education curriculum guide, legal education and annual meeting marketing materials, four quarterly publications, six to eight monthly publications, 23 public information pamphlets, annual reports, News Reporters’ Handbook on Law and Courts, and Adult Abuse Handbook. Steps involved in production were copy editing of drafts, design, photography, desktop publishing, manual and electronic paste-up and design, final editing, and coordination of all printing activities. Wrote and edited news releases dealing with the legal profession.
Missouri Farm Bureau, Jefferson City, MO – 1970-1972
Started as a secretary, undertook learning all aspects of public relations and basics of publications coordination. Job responsibilities included editing, writing, and paste-up and design of member publication, plus photography, including taking and developing of photos.
Freelance Work
• Served as volunteer editor/designer/desktop publisher for Preservation Issues, a publication of the Department of Natural Resources’ Historic Preservation Program from 1990-1996. Wrote article on Missouri State Penitentiary.
• Designed and typeset Missouri Supreme Court Historical Journal when it started and continued for several years.
• Served as consultant and provided research, writing, and editing for Computers Plus, Inc. on several bid proposals, including FOCUS, Missouri Prime Vendor Proposal for microcomputers, Missouri State Highway Patrol proposal for computerized, in-car and related systems, and Commonwealth of Virginia proposal for microcomputers. Designed and produced computerized presentation for Virginia proposal.
• Have taught numerous computer classes for career centers, associations, and individuals.
• Edited and designed A guide to Interpreting Missouri Criminal Records by local author.
• Served as a freelance editor for now-defunct e-publisher. See reference below by Tony Ruggiero.
• Did a preliminary edit voluntarily for Killer Web Content by Gerry McGovern, an internationally known expert on web content. He liked it so well that he paid me to do a second edit on the book before sending it to his publisher, and I am mentioned in the credits
